Green & Gorgeous Grocery Bags

If you’re like me, you appreciate the concept of going green, but sometimes don’t love the look. Case in point: the reusable shopping bags that all the stores seem to be pushing these days. Great idea, just not always so great looking. So I thought, why not cover up the ugly with some fabric? I had some leftover Harmony Art “Eyes of the World” fabric, a gorgeous organic material from a company that also has the environment in mind. The perfect combination — and a perfect complement to the bright green grocery bags I’ve been toting around. Ah, much better.

How To

Cut fabric 1 inch longer and wider than the space you wish to cover. Press under 1/2 inch all the way around the fabric. Pin in place, then top stich 1/4 inch in from the edge, being careful not to sew the bag closed.
