Oversize ornaments make a fun statement on a piano top. Gather various sizes of plastic-foam balls (these are 41⁄2, 51⁄2, and 71⁄2 inches) and silvery ball ornaments (these are 1⁄2- and 3⁄4 -inch). Paint the plastic-foam balls with acrylic paints; let dry. Drill holes into each ball, using bits that match the respective ornaments’ ends. Remove hangers from the ornaments. Insert an ornament end into each hole; hot-glue for stability. Cut silvery plastic ornaments in half, insert pieces of flexible plastic tubing to form loops, and hot-glue these toppers to the balls. |
