1. Fold napkin in half on the diagonal.


2. Turn the triangle so that the long edge is at the top. (If using a napkin with a decorative edge, fold it so that the design appears on the bottom point of this large triangle.)


3. Fold right and left corners down to the bottom corner.


4. Turn napkin over; keep bottom (open) corners pointed at you.


5. Fold bottom corners up to top point.


6. Turn napkin over, keeping long edge of triangle at bottom.


7. Fold left and right corners in, tucking left corner into open edges of right corner.


8. Turn napkin around; stand upright. Turn down the side triangles so that they reveal the napkin’s front design.

Hint: It helps to press folds with an iron after each step. Use a stiff woven napkin or a starched napkin.
