Window Installation Materials

Replace your window with ease using a sash repair kit. A sash kit is essentially a deconstructed window that you put together inside an existing window jamb. Using common carpentry tools, you can install a sash kit from inside your home without destroying the surrounding interior molding or exterior casing. Better yet, you can do it in less than an hour.

To install a sash kit, you will need the following tools and materials:

  • Utility knife
  • Pry bar
  • Pliers
  • Hammer
  • Level
  • Sash replacement window
  • Nails
  • Caulking gun
  • Caulk
  • Wood putty
  • Paintbrush
  • Paint

Tip: Installing a sash kit will work only when the replacement window is the same size and shape as the old one and when the existing window opening is square, or plumb. If your window does not meet these requirements, we suggest calling a pro.
