For this three-layer stamp, use the wall-art pattern and follow steps 1–3 from “Stamping 101” to trace and cut the foam pieces. For the first layer, place a 14-inch plexiglass square on the placement guide and position all the foam pieces on the plexiglass, carefully aligning the pieces with the shape lines on the placement guide. Glue the A foam pieces (outer petals) in place; remove all other foam pieces.

Place a second 14-inch square of plexiglass centered over the first stamp layer. Position the remaining foam pieces on this second square, again aligning these pieces with the placement guide shapes. Glue the B foam pieces (inner petals) in place for the second layer; remove all other foam pieces. Center a 6-inch plexiglass square on the second stamp layer and line up the C foam piece (starburst) with the pattern guide and foam shapes below; glue in place.

To make the remaining foam pieces into usable stamps, glue them (five D petal veins, five E circles, one F circle) onto a sheet of foam; let dry. Cut along the edges of the foam pieces.

Paint the front of the stretched canvas White; let dry. Remove the canvas from the stretcher frame. Apply paint/textile medium, and stamp the shapes in alphabetical order onto the painted canvas, referring to
Steps 5 and 6 from “Stamping 101.” When the stamped image is dry, reattach the canvas to the stretcher frame with staples. Paint the outside edges of the canvas White.
