Basket Liners

Identified by a machine-embroidered label, these fabric liners make baskets the perfect place to tuck project materials away.

Assembling the Liner
With right sides facing and the raw edges aligned, pin the embroidered cylinder to the liner bottom, positioning the embroidery so it is centered above one side of the bottom panel. Sew the side strip to the liner bottom as shown in the illustration, below. Clip the corners.


With the right side out, place the liner inside the basket to test the fit (the liner will be inside out).

Fold the embroidered flap over the sides of the basket. If the basket has tapered sides, gather and pin the excess fabric to match the measurements of the bottom panel. Sew the darts as shown in the illustration, below. Place the liner wrong side out inside the basket and fold the embroidered flap over the sides of the basket.
