FINISHING FRENCH SEAMS
Use this seam technique when working with sheer fabrics where sewing lines and raw edges show through. Sew the fabrics with the wrong sides together, using a 1⁄4-inch seam allowance. Trim the seam 1⁄8 inch from the sewing line, below top. To enclose the raw edge, turn the fabric wrong side out, press, and sew 3⁄8 inch from the edge, below bottom.
