Tools + Materials

  • baby's changing table
  • pencil
  • galvanized bucket
  • handsaw or jigsaw
  • drill and drill bits
  • various metal can dispensers, stemware holders, and
        dishware racks

  • clear sticker paper
  • corrugated plastic
  • straightedge
  • crafts knife
  • screws
  • finishing washers
  • screwdriver

    1. Mark a circle on the top shelf about 1 inch smaller than the galvanized bucket's top rim. Use the saw to cut the hole for the bucket; use the metal file to sand the edges of the hole. Then drop the bucket into the hole (and use it to hold ice).
    2. Drill pilot holes, then mount the metal can dispensers, stemware holders, and dishware racks as needed.
    3. Laser-print copyright-free images on the sticker paper. Attach them to sections of corrugated plastic cut to size with the straightedge and crafts knife. Screw the plastic sections to the outside of the shelves using finishing washers.
