Tools + Materials

  • plastic garden pots, aluminum cake tins, buckets
  • petroleum jelly
  • cement mix
  • water
  • mixing bucket & stick
  • 2x4
  • fresh leaves

    1. Smear petroleum jelly on your mold, but keep in mind you may need to break it to remove the set stepping-stone.
    2. Pour wet concrete, mixed according to the package instructions, into the mold. Smooth the top of the concrete with a 2x4.
    3. Lay fresh leaves face up on the wet concrete and gently press down.
    4. Allow the concrete to set. After the concrete cures for a day or two, you can scrub away any leaf remnants to reveal the shallow relief design.
