Construct a stash-and-store coffee table from metal milk crates and other salvaged tin boxes. Custom-fit the size of the table to your space by arranging the containers on the floor in an eye-pleasing configuration. Measure the length and width of the arrangement and cut 3/4-inch-thick plywood to match to form a base. For legs, screw finials to the bottom of the plywood.
Prime and paint the base and legs; then position the crates and drill pilot holes through the inside bottoms of the crates and into the wood base. To finish, drive screws through the pilot holes and into the wood to secure.
