Storage Tip of The WeeK
Mail Sorting System
Keep the mail from piling up with a mailbox storage system for every member of the family.

Give old mailboxes new life by turning them into eye-catching accents in your home.  Assign one to each family member for an easy way to sort the mail and leave notes for each other—or just use them to bring color to a room!

What You’ll Need:
  • Mailboxes
  • Sandpaper
  • Primer
  • Metal paint in various colors
  • Paintbrushes
  • Nails and hammer (or whatever materials you want to hang the mailboxes with)

Start by thoroughly cleaning the mailboxes. Scrape or sand off any old paint and wipe down the surfaces. Apply primer to the outsides of the mailboxes; let dry.

For metal mailboxes, use two coats of paint on each. Allow the paint to dry between coats.  When completely dry, mount the mailboxes on the wall. Call out to your family to let them know they’ve got mail!

Easy-to-create accents can give your home a new look in no time. Discover more ideas!
