Quick Projects | Walls and Floors | Paint a Fan Pattern
Paint a Fan Pattern

Spark a conversation and highlight tall ceilings with a simple fan design you can paint onto your wall.

Painted Fan Materials:
Stencil plastic
Fine-tip permanent marker
Crafts knife
Spray stencil adhesive
Stencil brush
Acrylic paint: light gold, medium gold, dark gold, light pink, medium pink, dark pink
Artist’s liner brush

Painted Fan Directions:
1. Download the fan stencil pattern here. Cut out the design. Using a pencil, lightly trace around the fan onto a wall in the desired location.

2. Using a fine-tip permanent marker, trace one fan blade of the motif onto stencil plastic and use a crafts knife to cut out the inside of the shape. Trace and cut out each swirl motif and the center half-circle in the same manner.

3. Spray stencil adhesive onto the back of the fan blade stencil; position on the penciled motif on the wall and press in place. Using a stencil brush, pounce a small amount of paint into the stencil, referring to the downloadable pattern for color placement. Let the paint dry and apply a second coat if desired. Reposition the stencil for each blade, applying a different color for each part of the fan. Using an artist’s liner brush and the wall color, hand-paint thin lines between the fan blades.

4. Using the swirl portions of the stencil, position and paint the stencils using gold for the swirls. Add dark pink dots to the ends of the swirls.
