For a touch of texture and pattern in a living room, coat sculptor’s wire mesh with spray paint and then lay it over purchased mats. Cut additional pieces of wire mesh slightly larger than the openings and tape them to the backs of the mats. Finally, weave strips of scrapbooking paper and assorted yarns and fibers through the mesh openings before placing the mats in their frames.
