Open-and-Shut Treatment
To bring a fresh breeze to your decor, place exterior shutters on the interior of a window.

To give shutters the look of well-worn architectural salvage, apply a crackle-paint treatment (purchased at a crafts store). Mount the shutters to the window frame with offset hinges that allow the shutters to swing fully open or closed.
