Tile a backsplash

Don’t be afraid to try tiling your own spaces. Our best advice for any tile project? Do your prep work. Remove wallpaper or paneling. Sand painted walls. And be sure to attach cement backer board around wet sink areas for a moisture-resistant surface.

Step 1: Trowel On Mortar
Spread a layer on the wall according to the manufacturer’s thickness recommendation. Use the trowel’s notched side to draw lines across the adhesive. Work in small sections as most adhesives’ workable time frame is about 15 minutes.
