7 Easy Refreshers
Here are some quick ways to achieve a simple, fresh look in your kitchen:
  1. Display collections as uncluttered cabinet-top displays.
  2. Let pretty dishware show off behind glass-insert cabinet doors.
  3. Create scalloped window treatments by tracing the curve of a dinner plate.
  4. Look for unusual lamp sources–this galvanized metal light fixture, for example, was found at a garden center.
  5. Install half-height shutters, which you can swing away to welcome views and the sun.
  6. Set accent tiles on the diagonal in a field of white for a bold backsplash.
  7. Replace low cabinet doors with breezy fabric panels, attached with hook-and-loop tape or shirred on curtain rods.
