A movable plywood wall on pipe feet defines the living and dining areas and introduces a playful splash of hot orange. “The floating wall makes the long space appear less narrow,” Jeni Hilpipre-Wright says, “and we purposely left the divider shorter than the ceiling to make the room seem taller.” The movable wall visually shortens the bowling-alley proportions of the room.
The women made sure to include a few other orange accessories (including pillows and candles) to balance the electric color of the movable wall with the neutral perimeter walls.
